Olive Arts was founded out of passion and love for woodcraft. From the very beginning of our journey, we have known how to create art with one of the finest woods of all. Our intention here is to create something that has never existed before.

Extravagance, extravagance and artistic freedom therefore determine our work.

Because of these ideas and goals, we allow ourselves a lot of time for the necessary attention to detail in every project.

Each new table is designed by our small team and artistically handcrafted. Constantly new ideas, food for thought and improvements then lead, after sometimes months of work, to a unique, non-reproducible end product.

We strive for perfection and uniqueness every time.

The olive wood

The olive tree is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the Mediterranean region and can be up to 2,000 years old. Its wood is extremely hard and heavy (50% harder and heavier than oak) due to its slow growth.

After planing, in addition to an increased resistance to moisture, resulting from the high oil and resin content, its impressive grain and the expressive play of colors contained therein are also evident for the first time. The nuances range from golden yellow to brownish with red and violet inclusions.

The processing is a big challenge, because the olive tree grows neither straight nor particularly high. Elaborate preparation steps and special processing techniques developed by us are necessary to produce these tables, which are unique in the world.

Artistic unique pieces

The uniqueness of our tables begins with the selection of the wood. Only rarely long and consistently perfect olive wood planks manage to become part of the actual production.

This makes it possible for us for the first time to create solid wood olive tables with consistent lengths of over 4.60 m.

Experts know that olive trees rarely reach such a height and that a workable plank of this length is a real rarity.

Not only the incredible length of the wood, but also its idiosyncratic shape are special features of our tables. A closer look at some specimens reveals that no straight olive planks can be identified on the entire tabletop. This is for an important reason:

Our wood paints pictures - and in order not to destroy them, our millings are always adapted to the abstract forms of the grain of the individual piece.

This results not only in a significantly increased manufacturing effort, but also in the uniqueness of each non-reproducible individual part.

The final table is ultimately made up of a large number of these precisely manufactured parts.
